Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Pk, MD
Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (specific days to be scheduled)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Provide safe, compassionate bedside care and monitoring during the night shift
- Support mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
- Communicate changes in resident condition to nursing staff and report concerns promptly
- Help create a calm, comfortable environment to support resident sleep and nighttime routines
- Participate in team huddles and follow care plans to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to pass facility background checks and meet health screening requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification or equivalent training required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs and basic geriatric care principles
- Comfortable with safe transfer techniques and fall prevention strategies
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Infection control practices and adherence to facility protocols
- Teamwork, patience, and the ability to manage nighttime routines calmly
