Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 10-hour day shifts, primary pattern 7 on / 7 off (07:00 AM - 05:00 PM). Options include 3x10 or 4x10 day schedules (07:00 AM - 05:00 PM) and an alternative Thursday–Monday schedule (07:00 AM - 05:00 PM) with Tuesday/Wednesday off. Day shift coverage; weekends required as scheduled.

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate adult and geriatric patients to develop individualized plans of care
- Deliver evidence-based physical therapy interventions including gait training, transfers, and assistive device training
- Monitor and document vital signs and patient progress accurately in Epic
- Create and update short- and long-term goals, conduct reassessments, and manage discharge planning
- Provide patient and family education to support recovery and safe transitions home
- Collaborate with nursing, respiratory therapy, social work, and other team members to coordinate care
- Safely perform lifts/transfers and utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts and specialty beds
- Manage a daily caseload (typically 10–12 patients) while prioritizing time management and patient safety
- Float between units including medical, surgical, ICU, ED, Same Day Surgery, and Inpatient Rehab as needed
Qualifications
- Active Washington State Physical Therapy license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care physical therapy experience required
- Proficiency with charting in Epic required
- Comfort working with a typical caseload of 10–12 patients per day
- Preferred: Inpatient rehabilitation (IPR) or community hospital experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to safely perform transfers and work with common assistive devices
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment, evaluation, plan of care development, and documentation
- Gait training, transfers and lifting techniques, and assistive device training
- Vital sign monitoring and cardiopulmonary patient care knowledge
- Experience with orthopedics, neurology, vestibular conditions, and prosthetic training
- Familiarity with ICU and medical-surgical settings and managing complex patients
- Competent with Hoyer lift operation and wheelchair assessment
- Discharge planning, home exercise program design, and patient/family education
- Strong time management, prioritization, and clinical decision-making abilities
