Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for inpatient rehab patients
• Deliver meaningful ADL training and usual inpatient rehab treatments to help patients regain independence
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Collaborate with PTs, nurses, rehab aides and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Demonstrate flexibility to meet unit needs and float to other Methodist inpatient rehab locations when required
• Educate patients and families on strategies to support recovery and safe transitions home

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapist credential appropriate for practice (OT) — aligned with role expectations
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience (as noted in the posting) — inpatient rehab experience is preferred
• Comfortable with inpatient rehab equipment (H200, L300, BURT) and the typical treatment environment
• Ability to work well in a team, be flexible with assignments, and cover required weekend shifts
• Outgoing, adaptable personality with strong communication and patient-focused attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADLs and patient evaluations
• Experience delivering inpatient rehab treatments
• Proficiency or willingness to use Meditech EMR
• Familiarity with H200/L300 and BURT equipment
• Strong teamwork and flexibility in a busy rehab unit
• Ability to manage treatment time expectations (typically 5–6 hours of treatment daily)
