Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes promptly
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive assistance
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Communicate effectively with nurses and the interdisciplinary care team

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) or equivalent state certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
• Ability to pass background and health screening per facility policy
• Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and ADLs
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, assisting with mobility, observation
• Strong infection control and safety awareness
• Good documentation and reporting habits
• Teamwork, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
