Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to long-term care residents during the night shift, focusing on comfort and safety
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
• Monitor and document vital signs, behavior changes, and any clinical concerns accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with nurses and support staff to ensure seamless handoffs and continuity of care
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and coordinate with the small hospital ER when needed
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention and safety protocols
• Communicate respectfully with residents and families, keeping them informed during transitions and updates

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state-required) in good standing
• Experience in long-term care preferred; prior CNA night-shift experience a plus
• Ability to work 5 night shifts per week, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM, for the 13-week contract
• Dependable, self-motivated, compassionate, and able to work well in a small-team environment
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain promptly

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADLs support and safe resident transfers
• Accurate vital signs collection and documentation
• Basic bedside charting and communication of clinical changes
• Strong teamwork, time management, and prioritization during busy night shifts
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and respect for resident dignity
