Roles & Responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently using Pyxis and Meditech systems to ensure patient safety
• Perform medication reconciliation and provide clear patient counseling to support optimal outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and pharmacy staff to coordinate medication therapy and resolve issues
• Maintain inventory control, restock automated systems, and manage medication supplies
• Ensure compliance with TSBP regulations, hospital policies and quality standards
• Document interventions, adverse events and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active TSBP (Texas State Board of Pharmacy) license — required
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience (as listed in the posting)
• Hands-on experience with Meditech and Pyxis — must-haves for success on shift
• Experience with Vigilanz is preferred and will be a plus during selection
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Education

• PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication dispensing and pharmacy operations expertise
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical record workflows
• Experience operating Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
• Familiarity with medication safety tools and reporting (Vigilanz preferred)
• Inventory management, regulatory compliance and quality assurance practices
• Patient counseling and clinical decision support
