Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator settings and provide advanced ventilator care for high-acuity patients
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide respiratory interventions
• Assess patients regularly and adjust therapies for optimal respiratory function
• Provide trach care and assist with intubation as needed in emergent and routine situations
• Deliver bronchodilator therapy, high-flow oxygen therapy and airway clearance methods
• Respond quickly and confidently to code blue events as part of the resuscitation team
• Safely transport patients and ensure continuity of respiratory care during transfers
• Accurately document care and interventions in Meditech to support patient safety and continuity

Qualifications

• RRT or CRT required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience (as listed); one year ICU experience preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with ventilator management and ABG interpretation
• Comfortable with equipment such as Drager ventilators, Phillips V60, Vapotherm and Metaneb

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and respiratory support for critically ill patients
• ABG collection and analysis
• Patient assessment and bedside critical care decision-making
• Trach care, intubation assist and code blue response
• High-flow O2 therapy, bronchodilator therapy and airway clearance techniques
• Experience with Meditech documentation
• Familiarity with Drager, Phillips V60, Vapotherm and Metaneb equipment
• Safe patient transport and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment
