Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to oncology and women’s surgical patients
• Administer treatments and monitor patients receiving chemotherapy and supportive care
• Assess, plan and implement individualized care plans for med-surg and oncology patients
• Perform or assist with procedures when appropriate (e.g., thoracentesis support, monitoring echoes, occasional pelvic exams)
• Document thoroughly in the Cerner EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to unit policies and hospital guidelines

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required) — candidates without required licensure will not be considered
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• CNA license noted on the posting as part of typical staffing mix
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience (as listed in the job posting)
• Chemo certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Comfortable working in a team environment and adaptable to occasional floating

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology and med-surg nursing knowledge
• Familiarity with chemotherapy administration and safety principles
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to assist with and monitor procedures such as thoracentesis and echocardiogram
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Patient ratio management (typical ratios 1:4 or 1:5)
