Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a med-surg/telemetry unit during night shifts
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms to promptly identify changes in patient status
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely within your scope of practice
• Accurately document assessments, interventions and patient progress in Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Float between like units as needed to meet facility needs while maintaining standards of care
• Support unit staffing needs and participate in weekend rotations as scheduled

Qualifications

• Current RN license required (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS required; NIH certification required
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, admissions, discharges and patient assessment
• Ability to float between similar units and adapt to changing patient care needs
• First-time travel nurses are welcome, though travel contract policies apply (see facility rules)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Proficient in Epic charting and electronic health record workflows
• Solid clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Familiarity with short-term acute care and trauma-center workflows
• Ability to manage a patient ratio typical for med-surg/tele (1:5-6)
