Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the acute care inpatient rehab setting and develop individualized, goal-driven care plans
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions across orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary diagnoses
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, Speech Therapists, and Rehab Techs to ensure cohesive treatment
• Document timely and accurately in Cerner PowerChart to track progress and communicate with the care team
• Use and instruct patients on patient lifting equipment and safe mobility aids to promote independence
• Communicate evaluation results and progress clearly to patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (must have)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience indicated; at least 1 year acute care experience preferred
• Comfort working in an acute care/ inpatient rehab environment with 1:1 patient ratios

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and care plan development
• Acute care procedures and safety practices
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary patient populations
• Proficient documentation in Cerner PowerChart
• Familiarity with patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove), walkers, and gait belts
• Strong interdisciplinary communication and coordination skills
