Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor patients on medical telemetry, recognizing and responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document care and patient status thoroughly in Cerner Patient Observation (CPO)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Prepare patients for procedures (Endoscopy, IR, OR) and assist with transitions of care
• Serve as a professional resource on the unit and step into charge responsibilities when needed
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clarity to support recovery and safe discharge

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in North Carolina)
• BLS required
• 2+ years of clinical nursing experience (medical-surgical/telemetry preferred)
• Hands-on Medical Telemetry experience required
• BSN preferred
• CMSRN encouraged
• Leadership or Charge Nurse experience is a plus
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and sign up for weekend coverage

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner (EMR) and Cerner Patient Observation (CPO)
• Experience with remote telemetry monitoring and VC150 systems
• Strong clinical assessment skills and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Comfortable using workstation-on-wheels and tap-and-go documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced med-surg PCU environment
