Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications accurately using Dose Edge and Pyxis to ensure patient safety
• Perform medication verification and dosing for antimicrobials and anticoagulants (vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulant dosing)
• Provide clinical consults such as pain management reviews and first-dose evaluations
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, oversee sterile IV compounding processes, and ensure compliance with sterile compounding standards
• Manage Pyxis and emergency medication boxes, ensuring timely availability of critical meds
• Document care and use the Meditech EMR to maintain accurate medication records and support care coordination

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) — must be active and in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience (as specified)
• Experience with sterile IV compounding and Dose Edge verification
• Familiarity with Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech
• ACLS and BLS preferred
• NICU experience preferred (nice-to-have)

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication verification and dispensing skills
• Clinical dosing expertise for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants
• Proficiency with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
• Safe sterile IV compounding practices and supervision of technicians
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to work independently on night shift
• Attention to detail and strong clinical judgment in high-acuity inpatient settings
