Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement components of patient care and carry out therapy activities as directed by the PT
• Assist patients with stretching and targeted exercises to improve strength and mobility
• Work directly with the Physical Therapist to adapt and modify treatment plans based on patient progress
• Safely transfer and move patients from wheelchairs or walkers to the therapy area
• Teach patients and families practical at-home techniques, including balance training
• Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate documentation
• Keep therapy areas clean, organized, and ready for patient care

Qualifications

• Valid PTA license (Missouri state license required; Compact allowed)
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience (required)
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings (required)
• Comfortable communicating with patients and families and providing practical home-care guidance
• Strong documentation and scheduling skills

• Patient care and hands-on therapeutic support
