Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the care team
• Assist with mobility, transfers and fall prevention to keep residents safe
• Support meal assistance and dietary needs while respecting resident preferences
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the electronic chart and communicate effectively with nurses and families
• Follow infection control, safety protocols and facility policies consistently
• Participate in care planning, team huddles and contribute observations that improve resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — New Mexico certification preferred or eligible for reciprocity
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Previous CNA experience preferred; comfort with resident care and ADLs
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills, teamwork mindset and dependable attendance

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and ADL assistance
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
• Infection prevention and safety best practices
• Clear documentation and care reporting
• Good time management, empathy and teamwork
• Ability to follow care plans and accept direction from nursing staff
