Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality ICU nursing care for adults with trauma, cardiac issues, sepsis, stroke, renal and respiratory failure
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and ECG strips using GE monitoring systems and document findings accurately
• Titrate and manage cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation safely according to unit protocols
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to vents and collaborate with respiratory therapy for advanced interventions
• Maintain accurate, timely charting in EPIC and participate in interdisciplinary rounds
• Provide crisis intervention and care for overdose/substance abuse patients while maintaining a calm, professional presence
• Support patient flow by floating to PCU or MedSurg as needed while maintaining appropriate patient ratios

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Nebraska
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care/ICU nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS at time of submission
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing complex cardiac meds
• Proven experience with telemetry, ECG interpretation, and ventilator troubleshooting
• Driver's license required at time of submission to meet radius rules
• Willingness to complete unit orientation, pass a skills exam (90% pass required), and comply with facility policies (including fingernail/artificial nail policy)
• Ability to meet RTO and scheduling policies (RTO 7 days or less per 13-week contract; holiday and weekend coverage expectations)

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EPIC charting and documentation workflows
• Strong telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation skills
• Experienced in drip titration and cardiac medication management
• Skilled in ventilator troubleshooting and basic respiratory support
• Comfortable with trauma, post-procedure cardiac care, stroke, sepsis, and renal failure management
• Effective communicator with interdisciplinary teams and patients' families
