Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Primary assignment: Nights; must be available for 2-3 day shifts for orientation. No set schedules; weekends required (4 weekend shifts per schedule — nights: Friday & Saturday; days: Saturday & Sunday). Holidays required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform remote surveillance of cardio-pulmonary rhythms for multiple locations via a central monitoring station
• Recognize, record and report potentially dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias following established protocols
• Communicate clearly and promptly with local RN staff and charge personnel when escalation is required
• Operate and monitor equipment (GE monitors, Ascom systems) and document findings in Cerner
• Follow command center policy and established procedures to support patient safety and department metrics
• Participate in orientation and mandatory in-person sessions with vendor teams (e.g., GE) as required

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program that includes EKG interpretation
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (lethal rhythms are pass/fail; single attempt)
• Minimum 2 years of recent related work experience (3 years preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable monitoring high patient ratios (45–60 patients) in a virtual setting
• Must not hold another on-assignment job during this assignment
• Willingness to follow a strict no-cell-phone policy (hospital provides a work phone)

Education

• Graduation from an accredited cardiac or telemetry program (EKG interpretation included)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Advanced dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG interpretation skills
• Remote cardiac rhythm surveillance best practices
• Familiarity with Cerner charting and GE/Ascom monitoring equipment
• Strong clinical communication and escalation skills
• Ability to follow established protocols and improve patient outcome metrics
