Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to seniors, supporting activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Assist with mobility and transfers, using safe body mechanics to protect residents
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow care plans
• Foster a warm, dignified environment that promotes independence and comfort
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — current and in good standing
• Demonstrated experience caring for older adults or in long-term care settings preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a care team
• Reliable, compassionate, and committed to resident dignity and safety

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or state-recognized equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and elder care best practices
• Skilled in safe transfer techniques and mobility assistance
• Familiarity with basic documentation and charting expectations
• Ability to recognize and report changes in physical or mental status
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, empathetic approach
