Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert Labor & Delivery and postpartum care for mothers and newborns, following AWHONN staffing/ratio guidelines
• Attend deliveries independently and serve as circulating nurse for C‑sections when needed
• Perform neonatal transition and resuscitation, assisting with catching and stabilizing newborns
• Monitor fetal heart tracings (EFM) using Centricity‑perinatal and collaborate with tele/monitor techs
• Titrate and manage drips (e.g., magnesium, Pitocin, insulin) safely and according to protocols
• Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Collaborate with OB/GYN, anesthesia, NNP/NNP teams, surgical techs and unit staff to coordinate emergent and routine care
• Support quality initiatives and be open to feedback from leadership to continuously improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (able to submit; facility willing to wait if needed)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (will consider 1 year with substantial prior travel experience)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP; intermediate or advanced FHM preferred
• Demonstrated LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience
• Comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections
• Able to perform neonatal transition/resuscitation and assist with catching baby
• Experience with titration of drips (magnesium, Pitocin, insulin)
• EPIC charting experience and familiarity with Centricity-perinatal EFM
• No first-time travelers — prior travel assignment experience required
• Director requests two years of references to be submitted with candidate submittal

Education

• Active RN license (state RN) required
• BSN not required (facility indicates BSN required: No)

• Labor & Delivery and Postpartum clinical expertise
• Neonatal resuscitation and newborn transition techniques
• Electronic health record proficiency (EPIC)
• Fetal heart monitoring and interpretation (EFM/Centricity‑perinatal)
• Medication/drip titration and IV management
• Ability to function in high-risk OB scenarios (preeclampsia, diabetic patients, substance exposure)
• Strong teamwork and communication with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt to unit workflows and accept constructive feedback
