Roles & Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment with precision
• Maintain accurate inventory of sterile supplies and instruments to support surgical teams
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and validate processes to ensure patient safety
• Inspect instruments for function and integrity, removing and reporting defects quickly
• Prepare sterile trays and surgical sets tailored to case needs and department protocols
• Communicate effectively with perioperative staff to ensure smooth case flow and timely turnarounds
• Participate in rotating weekend and holiday call coverage to support continuous care

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Certified as CSPDT or CRCST required; please provide certification with application
• Minimum 3 years of sterile processing experience
• Comfortable with rotating weekend and holiday call availability
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and adherence to infection control practices
• Ability to follow sterile processing policies, instrumentation guidelines, and safety protocols

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in instrument decontamination, wrapping, and sterilization techniques
• Familiarity with inventory control and sterile supplies management
• Experience handling surgical instruments and preparing procedure trays
• Knowledge of sterilizer operation, biological and chemical indicators, and quality assurance
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams
• Ability to work efficiently under time pressure while maintaining accuracy
