Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
• Provide safe mobility support and transfers following facility protocols
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition promptly
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Support mealtime needs and ensure residents receive proper nutrition assistance
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to deliver person-centered care
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or completion of an approved GNA training program
• CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to perform physical duties of the role, including safe lifting and repositioning per policy

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of an accredited GNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident care
• Ability to take and accurately document vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
• Basic charting and documentation skills; comfort learning EHR systems
• Team-oriented communication and the ability to follow care plans
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
