Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to ICU patients, monitoring and responding to rapid changes
• Manage complex ventilators and assist with intubation care and ventilator weaning protocols
• Care for patients with central lines and arterial lines; support procedures and post-procedure monitoring
• Document thoroughly and accurately in the EMR (Meditech) to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on care plans and changes in condition with empathy and clarity
• Float to related units (BMT, PCU, other ICUs) as needed while maintaining high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) credential
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (per job posting)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Comfort caring for neuro and oncology ICU patients preferred
• Team-player attitude — accountable, caring, and ready to collaborate

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing skills and stability in high-acuity settings
• Proficiency with intubation-related care and ventilator management
• Familiarity with central line and arterial line monitoring and care
• Experience using Meditech or similar EMR systems for documentation
• Ability to manage 2:1 patient ratios typical of the unit
• Excellent communication, situational awareness and teamwork
