Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled speech-language therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Treat activities of daily living and functional communication goals to help patients regain independence
• Deliver usual inpatient rehab treatments with clinical confidence and compassion
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Meditech to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with PTs, OTs, nurses and aides as part of a cohesive rehab team
• Adapt and flex to unit needs, stepping into different inpatient rehab areas when required
• Contribute initiative and problem-solving to improve patient outcomes and unit workflows

Qualifications

• Active state license or credential required for SLP practice in Texas
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience (as listed in the posting)
• Basic knowledge of inpatient rehab is a must; candidates without this will not be considered
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable working with Meditech electronic medical record
• Willingness to work at least 2 weekends per 4-week period
• Strong teamwork, flexibility and an outgoing, professional bedside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evaluations and planning therapy for ADLs
• Experience or familiarity with inpatient rehab workflows and treatments
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR
• Familiarity with H200/L300 and BURT equipment
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Initiative to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs
