Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas analysis, and sleep studies with accuracy and compassion
• Administer and monitor respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and inhalation therapies to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on disease management, breathing techniques, and correct use of respiratory equipment to promote independence
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and sleep technologists to develop and implement effective patient care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation to support continuity of care
• Continuously improve clinical practice by staying current with developments in respiratory therapy and contributing to process enhancements

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist licensure in the state of Oklahoma or eligibility to obtain licensure
• National credential (CRT or RRT) preferred or willing to obtain if required
• Experience performing pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, and sleep studies
• Proven ability to manage mechanical ventilation and oxygen/inhalation therapies
• Strong patient education and documentation skills
• Comfortable collaborating in a multidisciplinary team environment

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related healthcare field preferred
• Completion of an accredited respiratory care program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pulmonary function testing techniques and interpretation
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis
• Mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
• Oxygen therapy and inhalation therapy administration
• Sleep study procedures and collaboration with sleep technologists
• Patient and family education best practices
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Clinical teamwork and care plan development
