Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-op orthopedic nursing care for patients on a 32-bed unit
• Perform dressing changes, suture/staple removals, and wound care including Wound VAC maintenance and removal
• Manage Foley catheters and NG tubes safely and according to protocol
• Safely assist with patient handling and use of lifts, walkers, CPM and mobility devices
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on post-op care, mobility plans and safety measures

Qualifications

• Current NC RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience (as listed in the job posting)
• Orthopedic or hospital Med-Surg experience preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred
• Ability to perform physical tasks and operate patient lifts and mobility equipment
