Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to adult and/or pediatric patients
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patients in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, start and manage IV lines, and perform emergency procedures per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to drive positive patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care with clarity and empathy
• Maintain situational awareness and escalate concerns promptly to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — North Carolina RN or compact multistate license preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience (per job listing)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated critical thinking, strong assessment skills and the ability to act decisively in emergencies
• Up-to-date immunizations and any required travel/assignment credentials

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills with rapid decision-making
• IV therapy, medication administration and wound care proficiency
• Familiarity with trauma protocols and resuscitation procedures
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care clearly
• Strong communication, teamwork and patient-education abilities
