Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment with precision in OR, ED, inpatient and portable settings
• Capture and evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring diagnostic accuracy
• Perform portable and trauma radiography quickly and safely when minutes matter
• Position patients compassionately and effectively, including OR and complex trauma cases
• Float between assigned departments as needed to support patient care and team needs
• Precept and work with students from Grady, performing competency check-offs and mentoring future techs
• Learn and expand skills in pediatric and neonatal imaging as opportunities arise
• Document procedures and image findings in EPIC and manage studies in Sectra

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required
• BLS certification required
• Graduate of a JRCERT/ARRT-approved radiography program
• Minimum: 1 year level 1 trauma experience OR 2–3 years at a large-bed level 2 trauma facility
• Comfortable and experienced in OR procedures and general X-ray; willing to float to ED, inpatient and portables
• Experience with EPIC and Sectra a plus; familiarity with GE, Philips and CareStream equipment helpful
• Willingness to learn pediatric and neonatal radiography

Education

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiography program (ARRT registry required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong radiologic technologist fundamentals: image evaluation and technical quality assessment
• Fluoroscopy and radiographic technique expertise
• Portable imaging and trauma radiography proficiency
• Patient positioning skills for OR, trauma and routine exams
• Ability to operate GE, Philips and CareStream imaging systems
• Experience using EPIC and Sectra for documentation and image management
• Comfort with student supervision and competency assessment
