Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage and stabilize emergency patients quickly and compassionately
• Perform and assist with emergency procedures such as cardioversion, TNK administration, and moderate sedation
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses with safety and precision
• Document patient care thoroughly in Meditech to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with providers and the unit-based council to improve patient outcomes and unit flow
• Maintain safe patient ratios (typically 4:1) while prioritizing critical needs
• Provide patient and family education and clear communication during high-stress situations

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (must be eligible to work in the state of assignment)
• BLS and ALS required; TNCC and ENPC or PALS required (ALS/BLS/TNCC/ENPC or PALS listed as must-haves)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience required; 2 years ED experience preferred
• Comfortable with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Team player with a positive, flexible attitude and strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Experience with cardiac and acute interventions (cardioversion, TNK)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ED environment and manage a 4:1 patient ratio
• Skilled in patient/family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Comfortable using common ED equipment (Welch Allyn, GE monitors)
