Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based intrapartum and postpartum nursing care for mothers and newborns
• Continuously monitor maternal and fetal status and act promptly on changes
• Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and the care team to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on labor progress, delivery expectations, and newborn care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes
• Participate proactively in obstetric emergency response and unit safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — active license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (experience in Labor & Delivery preferred)
• Comfortable and experienced working 12-hour night shifts
• Ability to travel for a 16-week assignment and maintain required credentials

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN (per employer requirement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in intrapartum and postpartum nursing care
• Knowledge of fetal monitoring and labor support techniques
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings
• Accurate documentation and time management during busy shifts
