Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med-Surg unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document patient care and progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and escalate as needed

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (TN or multistate compact) required
• Minimum 2 years Med-Surg RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and other certifications preferred
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not strictly required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med-Surg clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) charting
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely
• Patient education and discharge planning experience
• Collaborative approach with interdisciplinary teams
