Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Measure and report vital signs and any changes in resident condition to nursing staff
- Document care clearly and accurately in resident records
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team and family members
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention practices
- Participate in care planning and contribute observations that improve resident outcomes
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skilled at taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with ADLs, safe resident handling, and transfer techniques
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with residents
