Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility with compassion and respect
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report meaningful changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, using approved body mechanics and lift equipment
• Maintain clear, timely documentation to support high-quality, coordinated care
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families, promoting dignity and independence
• Work as an engaged member of the care team to implement individualized care plans
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required) — must be active and in good standing
• Ability to obtain or hold New Mexico state CNA authorization (if not already licensed)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working weekends and flexible start times as scheduled
• Successful completion of background check, drug screen, and health screening per facility policy
• Strong communication skills, reliable attendance, and a compassionate approach to resident care
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of fundamental nursing assistant duties and infection control practices
• Skill in taking and documenting vital signs and basic clinical observations
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to licensed nursing staff
• Familiarity with safe transfer techniques and use of assistive devices
• Time management and organization to balance multiple resident needs
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
