Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess functional status and occupational performance to create meaningful, patient-centered goals
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions
- Deliver therapeutic activities that promote independence in daily living, work, and leisure
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
- Document progress and discharge planning clearly and promptly in the facility EMR
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs, and community resources
- Advocate for patient needs and recommend adaptive equipment when appropriate
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in California, or eligible to obtain CA licensure
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Prefer at least 1 year of clinical experience in acute, subacute, or outpatient rehab settings
- Comfortable with documentation in electronic medical records and timely charting
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care
- Ability to travel and work a 13-week contract assignment
Education
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or OTD preferred; entry-level master’s or equivalent accepted
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in functional assessments and activity analysis
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and ADL training
- Familiarity with rehab modalities and task-oriented treatment techniques
- Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively
- Comfortable teaching patients, families, and staff with a patient-first mindset
- Strong clinical reasoning and goal-driven documentation skills
