Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess functional status and occupational performance to create meaningful, patient-centered goals
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions
• Deliver therapeutic activities that promote independence in daily living, work, and leisure
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
• Document progress and discharge planning clearly and promptly in the facility EMR
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs, and community resources
• Advocate for patient needs and recommend adaptive equipment when appropriate

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in California, or eligible to obtain CA licensure
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Prefer at least 1 year of clinical experience in acute, subacute, or outpatient rehab settings
• Comfortable with documentation in electronic medical records and timely charting
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care
• Ability to travel and work a 13-week contract assignment

Education

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or OTD preferred; entry-level master’s or equivalent accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments and activity analysis
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and ADL training
• Familiarity with rehab modalities and task-oriented treatment techniques
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively
• Comfortable teaching patients, families, and staff with a patient-first mindset
• Strong clinical reasoning and goal-driven documentation skills
