Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver high-quality interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and gait training
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families on home programs and strategies for long-term independence
• Participate in discharge planning and ensure safe transitions of care
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, state practice acts, and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Current or compact-eligible Physical Therapist license for California (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Active professional liability coverage or ability to obtain coverage as required by the facility
• Comfortable treating a variety of patient populations; orthopedic and geriatric experience a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; dependable and professional for contract assignments
• Willingness to travel and work a 13-week contract in Watsonville, CA

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred; Master's or Bachelor's in Physical Therapy acceptable per state regulations)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical reasoning and evidence-based treatment planning
• Proficiency in therapeutic exercise prescription, manual techniques, and functional mobility training
• Experience with gait training, balance interventions, and assistive device fitting
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers clearly and compassionately
• Time management skills to maintain caseload while delivering quality care
