Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient status and progress using clinical reasoning to guide safe, effective care
• Implement therapeutic exercise programs and assist with mobility, gait training, and transfers
• Collaborate with PTs, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge recommendations clearly and on time
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and functional independence
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising physical therapist
• Maintain equipment, uphold infection control practices, and contribute to a safe care environment

Qualifications

• Current California PTA license (required)
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with travel/temporary assignments and able to start ASAP
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Completion of state PTA licensure requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, functional mobility, and gait training
• Proficient with patient documentation and electronic health records
• Strong clinical observation and patient safety techniques
• Time management, organization, and the ability to prioritize caseloads
• Compassionate patient education and effective interdisciplinary communication
