Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition promptly
• Follow individualized care plans and communicate observations to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive assistance
• Document resident care accurately and timely in charts or electronic records
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear communication
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive, resident-centered environment

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification in Maryland or equivalent patient care certification (CNA) preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required health screenings
• Excellent communication skills and a patient, compassionate demeanor
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the job, including safe resident transfers

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA/CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Basic vital signs assessment and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and team members
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Comfort using basic electronic charting or willingness to learn facility systems
