Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for medical-surgical and oncology patients
- Administer treatments and medications safely — chemo-certified clinicians will support chemotherapy administration per policy
- Monitor and manage patients in step-down settings, responding promptly to changes in condition
- Assess and manage sickle cell-related complications and collaborate on individualized care plans
- Document clinical findings, interventions, and patient education clearly and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, members of the care team, and families to coordinate patient-centered care
- Maintain required certifications and complete required skills checklists and competency documentation
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys license verification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty in a similar-size setting (medical-surgical/oncology/step-down)
- Chemotherapy certification preferred (chemo-certified clinicians encouraged to apply)
- Complete work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days
- Ability to provide Skills Checklist, References, and Certification Card; upload badge-appropriate photo and demographic info into your profile
Knowledge & Skills
- Medical-surgical nursing best practices
- Oncology patient care and chemotherapy familiarity (chemo-certified preferred)
- Step-down unit care and monitoring
- Sickle cell management and common complication recognition
- Proficient clinical documentation and use of skills checklists
- Familiarity with Nursys license verification process
