Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned inmates/patients (adolescent through adult) under RN or physician supervision
• Administer nursing treatments and medications within the scope of the LPN license
• Perform timely and accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
• Support medical intake, triage, and routine care in a busy correctional health environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care and safety
• Maintain professional standards aligned with the facility’s mission, vision, and values
• Adhere to correctional protocols and contribute to a safe environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Ohio ONLY (required)
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (required)
• Preferred: Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience
• Comfortable and experienced working in correctional healthcare settings
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods and meet physical requirements (lift 250-300 lbs with assistance; push/pull up to 500 lbs with assistance)

Education

• Completion of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid foundation in direct nursing care and medication administration
• Familiarity with correctional facility workflows, safety and security protocols
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Good communication and teamwork within multidisciplinary teams
• Infection control and basic emergency response skills
