Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to identify functional limitations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and independence
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with PTs, SLPs, nursing and case management to coordinate comprehensive care
• Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to support safe discharge
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to maximize independence and prevent injury
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy license in Maryland or eligibility to obtain one quickly
• OTR credential or equivalent preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Clinical experience in rehabilitation, outpatient, or post-acute settings preferred (1+ year recommended)
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work the scheduled days including weekends as required by the facility

Education

• Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (Bachelor's, Master's, or OTD)
• Graduation from an accredited school of occupational therapy and completion of required clinicals

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments and developing practical treatment plans
• Experience with adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and ADL training
• Solid documentation practices and comfort using electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to teach and coach patients and caregivers in a compassionate way
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced rehab environment
