Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating every 3rd weekend and 3 of 6 major holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level 4 NICU with 71 beds
Manage complex conditions including premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical cases, ECMO, and cooling therapy
Perform and demonstrate competency in Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and maintaining sterile field
Collaborate with neonatologists, midlevels, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes
Act as a charge nurse or resource nurse as needed, supporting the unit's high-risk patient population

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of recent NICU experience, with at least 2 years in a Level 4 NICU setting
Compact or state nursing license (AZ) required
Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Must pass a SIMs lab demonstrating sterile field competency for Foley and central line procedures

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry monitoring
Certifications: BLS, NRP, and Cardiac STABLE or equivalent
Strong understanding of sterile field, ventilator management (RT managed), and neonatal resuscitation
Ability to float to mother-baby or labor and delivery for neonatal care
