Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, block scheduling, every other weekend and holidays required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide skilled nursing care to neonates in Level 2 NICU and postpartum mothers in an LDRP setting
Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, ensuring immediate newborn assessment and stabilization
Start and maintain IV therapy, including titration of drips such as D5W and TPN
Manage respiratory support with Bubble CPAP, Hiflow, and BiPap; assist with ventilation prior to transfer
Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Coordinate transfers to higher level of care when necessary
Flex to postpartum care when nursery census is low, managing mother-baby couplets

Qualifications

Current RN license in Washington State
NRP and BLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in NICU Level 2 and/or postpartum care
Must be skilled in attending deliveries as a baby nurse
Proven ability to start and maintain IVs and transfer patients to higher level of care

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in neonatal resuscitation and respiratory support (Bubble CPAP, Hiflow, BiPap)
Experience with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Ability to titrate drips and manage IV therapy
Knowledge of phototherapy, hypoglycemia management, and neonatal withdrawal care
Strong assessment and communication skills for LDRP environment
