Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling with flexibility; every other weekend and holiday commitment required; orientation consists of 3 shifts

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for acute medical, surgical, and orthopedic inpatients
Facilitate early mobilization to promote recovery and prevent complications
Determine patients' mobility status and assess safety for discharge to home or transfer to a rehabilitation unit
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans
Provide skilled interventions for patients with CVA/stroke, neuropathy, and general weakness in the ICU and IMC

Qualifications

Active Colorado Occupational Therapy license required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Prior experience in acute inpatient care setting preferred
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of 8-10 patients per day

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in acute inpatient occupational therapy including medical, surgical, and orthopedic populations
Strong clinical reasoning for discharge planning and mobility assessment
Proficiency with early mobilization protocols and safe patient handling
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and the care team
