Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient

Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-12-2026

End Date: 09-11-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Mainly Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shift one day per week. Every third weekend required with Monday and Friday off following weekend.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert physical therapy evaluations and treatments for acute inpatient patients
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Cover Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units as required

Qualifications

Active California PT license required
BLS certification required
Acute inpatient experience strongly preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of acute inpatient rehabilitation, orthopedics, and neurological conditions
Strong assessment and treatment planning skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
