Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-12-2026

End Date: 09-11-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Primarily Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy assessments and treatments for acute inpatient patients with diverse diagnoses including orthopedic, neurologic, and general medical conditions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Document patient progress accurately and timely in electronic medical records
Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and home programs
Cover medical/surgical, ICU, and ER areas as needed to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Current California Physical Therapy license required
BLS certification from American Heart Association required
Acute Inpatient PT experience required
Ability to handle a caseload of 12+ patients per day

Knowledge & Skills

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of orthopedic, neurologic, and general medical conditions
Proficiency in documentation and EMR systems
