Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), including every 3rd weekend (Friday night through Sunday night) and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in Med Surg and Emergency Department
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients with efficiency and compassion
Titrate medications and manage drips including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs and work with PICC/Ports to ensure patient comfort
Respond to codes (cardiorespiratory, stroke, sepsis) and traumas
Perform and interpret EKGs using Mindray monitors
Float between Med Surg and ER as needed, collaborating with a small team
Maintain compliance with EMTALA regulations and coordinate flight transports

Qualifications

Active RN license in Minnesota
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Emergency Department experience is a must
Ability to work independently with minimal staff and communicate directly with hospitalists

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in IV start, PICC/Port management, and medication titration
Skilled in code and trauma response
Comfortable with Meditech EMR
Able to read and document own telemetry strips
Experience with BiPap, high flow oxygen, and Hamilton T1 vent (patients typically transferred)
