Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient

Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-12-2026

End Date: 09-11-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts; every third weekend required (Monday and Friday off those weekends)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy to acute inpatients with diverse diagnoses including TKA, THA, spinal surgery, general ortho, and CVA
Cover Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units as needed
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to optimize patient recovery
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
Document patient progress and adjust treatments to achieve goals

Qualifications

Active California PT license
Current BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of acute inpatient physical therapy experience required
Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day

Knowledge & Skills

Acute inpatient rehabilitation expertise
Strong skills in orthopedics and neurological rehabilitation
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation
