Location: Phoenix, AZ

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 08-31-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every 3rd weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-level care to critically ill neonates in a Level 4 NICU
Manage complex cases including premature infants, cardiac defects, and surgical neonates
Collaborate with neonatologists and midlevels in a 24/7 care environment
Perform and master nursing skills including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes in SIMs Lab
Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
Act as a resource for the unit, supporting charge nurse duties and floating to mother-baby or labor care as needed

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of Level 4 NICU experience required
Previous travel experience strongly preferred
Must live outside a 50-mile radius from Phoenix (driver's license verification)
BLS, NRP, and Cardiac STABLE certifications required
Proficiency in Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry
Ability to pass a pass/fail SIMs Lab on Foley catheter and central line dressing changes

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced knowledge of neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
Expertise in caring for critically ill neonates including ECMO and cooling therapy
Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection prevention
Experience with infant ventilators (RT managed) and neonatal pharmacy
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
