Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days/nights), block scheduling, every other weekend, holiday rotation

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to infants in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery
Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, providing immediate assessment and care
Care for postpartum mothers and babies, managing couplets as needed
Start and maintain IVs, monitor drips like D5W and TPN
Administer Bubble CPAP and Hiflow respiratory support
Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Transfer infants to higher level of care when necessary
Collaborate with neonatologists and respiratory therapists

Qualifications

Active RN license in Washington State
Current BLS and NRP certifications
Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in NICU Level 2 and/or postpartum
Experience attending deliveries and performing newborn resuscitation
Proficient in IV start, Bubble CPAP, Hiflow, and umbilical line assist

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment skills for newborn and postpartum patients
Ability to titrate IV fluids and manage common drips
Knowledge of phototherapy, hypoglycemia management, and neonatal withdrawal
Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced LDRP setting
Flexibility to float between NICU and postpartum assignments
