Location: Bakersfield, California

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with one day per week 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend (with Monday and Friday off that week)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality physical therapy services to acute inpatient populations, including Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units
Manage a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day, addressing diagnoses such as post-surgical (TKA, THA, spinal), general medical/deconditioned, and CVA
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote functional recovery and discharge readiness
Collaborate with rehabilitation aides and interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient care
Participate in department-specific orientation and maintain familiarity with hospital systems and protocols

Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapy license required
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Proven experience in acute inpatient physical therapy settings
Ability to adapt to varying shift schedules and weekend coverage
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in treating orthopedic, neurological, and medically complex patients
Proficiency in acute care rehabilitation techniques and patient mobility
Knowledge of hospital safety protocols and infection control
Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
