Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, with rotating weekends (every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
Perform triage assessments and monitor fetal heart tones using OBIX EFM system
Act as the primary baby catcher and transition nurse for newborns
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe deliveries and manage Pitocin drips as needed
Assist with postpartum care and patient education
Maintain a calm and supportive environment in a rural hospital setting

Qualifications

At least one year of Labor and Delivery experience
Trained in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) nursing
Ability to triage and function as a baby catcher/transition nurse
Current certifications: ALS, NRP, AWHONN EFM
Active RN license in Colorado or compact state
Willingness to work in a small, close-knit unit with a 20-minute response time for OB and anesthesia

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in fetal monitoring (EFM) using OBIX system
Experience with titratable drips such as Pitocin
Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
