Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling (3x12-hour shifts per week), includes every other weekend and holidays; call and standby as required.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to newborns in Level 2 NICU and postpartum patients
Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, assessing and stabilizing newborns
Monitor and manage respiratory support including Bubble CPAP and Hiflow
Initiate and maintain IV access, administer medications and fluids
Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Transfer patients to higher level of care as needed
Collaborate with neonatologists and the multidisciplinary team
Educate and support new mothers and families during their stay

Qualifications

Current NRP and BLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years experience in Level 2 NICU and/or postpartum setting preferred
Proven skills in attending deliveries as the baby nurse
Competency in IV start and maintenance, respiratory support devices (Bubble CPAP, Hiflow), and umbilical line placement assistance
Ability to titrate drips such as D5W and TPN
Strong critical thinking, communication, and adaptability skills

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of neonatal resuscitation and stabilization techniques
Skill in managing respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, and withdrawal in newborns
Experience with phototherapy and care of gainer/growers
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and call as needed
Team collaboration and flexibility to move between NICU and postpartum assignments
